Cabardi, a port in the Sea of Tana, was a Genoese colony near both the earlier Porto Pisano and the more recently founded Taganrog, Russia. It is one of a group of toponyms that appears only on a single Sfera map (Ashb7) with an unusual amount of detail around the Black Sea. Campbell #1187; Gordeev 236–7; see also David Jacoby (2017).
This toponym does not appear in the poem, only on the maps accompanying it.
