Ireland

Ancient name
Hibernia
Modern name
Ireland
Modern country
Ireland
The Romans had used Hibernia or Scotia to refer to Ireland, but by Dati's day the vernacular Irlanda (which shares a Gaelic etymology with Hibernia, but is more similar to modern Ireland) was becoming widely used, while Scotia was being used to refer exclusively to Scotland. Ireland is very rare on the Sfera maps, and appears labeled in only one manuscript.
