Larissa—now the city of El-'Arīsh, Egypt—is a port on the Mediterranean coast of the Sinai peninsula, near the Egypt-Israel border and the Gaza Strip. Note that the range of spellings for Laraccia (Morocco), La Rassa (Egypt), Larissa (Egypt), Laleccia (Syria), and Laiazzo (Turkey) closely overlap in medieval Italian—and at least two of them, Laraccia and Larissa, share the same modern name (Arish or Al-Arish). Campbell #1535.
