Mallorca

Ancient name
Maiorica
Modern name
Majorca
Modern country
Spain
Mallorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands, which were under the control of Aragon at Dati's time (along with Sardinia and Sicily). It's worth noting that the Sfera maps spell the island's name both Maiorica and Maiolica. The glazed pottery generally known as majolica is thought to come from the island's name, since it was a stop on the route for ships bringing Spanish pottery from Valencia to Italy.
