Moncastro was a port between Erexe and Falconaria, a major port and fortress for the Principality of Moldova (est. 1391). It is one of a group of sites along the northern and western coast of the Black Sea that appear in only a single Sfera manuscript (Ashb7). Campbell #1111; Gordeev 287–90.
