In the Sfera corpus, the toponym Paris refers not to the capital of France but to the ancient site of Parium, on the south side of the Dardanelles at the entrance to the Sea of Marmara. While it was a major port and customs station with two harbors in the Roman period, it seems to have been no more than a titular bishopric by 1410. Campbell #1350.
This toponym does not appear in the poem, only on the maps accompanying it.
