Today the city of Sale is a commuter town for the larger city of Rabat, on the opposite (south) bank of the Bou Regreg Tiver. Most of the Sfera maps show a river going through Fez debouching into the Atlantic at Sale, but the Bou Regreg (Rabat/Sale) and the Sebou River (of which the Fez River is a tributary) are not actually connected. Note that Sale and the Silk Road oasis of Sarai both appear as salla on Sfera maps. Campbell #1810.
