Samastro (present-day Amasra, Turkey) is a port on the southern shore of the Black Sea, between Pontarachia and Castelle. It was controlled by the Genoese from the later 13th to the later 15th century. Note that it is different from the inland city of Savasto. Campbell #1297; Gordeev 43–4.
