Taurus Mountains

Modern name
Actually the Lesser Caucasus, Taurus Mountains
Dati's toponyms do not distinguish between a single peak (X Mountain) and a range (the XXX Mountains), so Monte Tauro most likely refers to the Taurus Mountains of eastern Anatolia, part of the larger grouping of the Armenian Mountains. See also Mount Ararat, and note that the Taurus Mountains are different from the region of Taurica and the city of Tauris (now Tabriz).
