Thrace was a Roman province corresponding to the area between the Balkans/Macedonia, the Aegean Sea, and the Black Sea, on the western side of the Dardanelles and Bosphorus. Like its neighbor Bithynia, it appears on only one Sfera manuscript (Bos), probably as a result of Ptolemaic influence.
This toponym does not appear in the poem, only on the maps accompanying it.
