Tino (unknown)
- Modern name
- Possibly a deformation of Thule >> Tile >> ??? (Ptolemaic tradition)
The toponym Tino appears on a world map in a single Sfera manuscript, as one of a pair of islands at the northwestern edge of the world. As its partner is Scotia (which could be Britain or Ireland), Tino may denote Ireland, Iceland, or some other North Atlantic island. Its name may also bear some relation to the Ptolemaic Thule, sometimes written Tile.
This toponym does not appear in the poem, only on the maps accompanying it.
