Arabian Mountains
- Modern name
- Mountains vaguely placed btw Monte Libano and Monte Sinai: probbaly Transjordan
- Coordinates
- 31.77, 35.73
The toponym Arabian Mountains appears on a small group of Sfera maps labelling a north-south range between Mount Lebanon and Mount Sinai; as such it corresponds to the present-day Transjordan Range. It is not in the same place as the Montana Arabie or Montana Arabie Felicis that appear on later 15th-century Ptolemaic maps, which run east-west the north of the Arabian peninsula between the Persian Gulf and the Red Sea.
This toponym does not appear in the poem, only on the maps accompanying it.
