Alexandretta (originally Alexandria ad Issum) is a city on the Levantine coast north of Antioch, between Soldino and Laiazzo. Particularly among Western pilgrims, it became known in the Middle Ages as Alexandretta or Alexandria Minor ("Little Alexandria") to distinguish it from the "main" Alexandria in Egypt.
