The city of Copa was a major Genoese-controlled Black Sea port in the later Middle Ages. Located on the Sea of Tana (now the Sea of Azov) just to the east of the Kerch Strait, it was within easy travel distance of both Caffa and Tana. Campbell #1201; Gordeev 213.
