Sahara Desert

Dati's references to the Sahara Desert are all indirect, such as "dust and sand—a country scorched by the hot wind where no water emerges from any springs" (3.34.2–4), but such references occur in his discussions of both Morocco and Egypt, sometimes in relation to the Atlas Mountains or Charena. Reference to the desert never appears on any of the Sfera maps.
